Turfing Around the Layout

24/12/2024 (Christmas Eve);

I finally got sick and tired of spraying, chipping, pulling weeds from my pathways around the railway.

As part of the re configuration I decided to lay artificial turf along all the paths.

This is the first stage around the old firepit that was not being used, the plan is to plant a tree in the middle and plant ground orchids around it.

As part of the new paths I will be putting down proper new pine garden edging as the old fence palings I used before have started to rot.

I am buying the turf from a cheap shop (Reject Shop in Aust) in 3M x 1M rolls.

Eventually all the paths will be done and weeding should be a thing of the past or at least a very small job.

Work has been ongoing with the turf project with a lot of weeding taking place between construction of the layout.

To give an idea of what is under the paths this is a photo of woven weed control mat laid over the area where a garden bed was under the old across the yard line.

It will be covered by decomposed granite(Deco) material which is what the paths are made of using the same construction method). The turf is laid on top of this.
